Giveaway: Win A Cha Veda Tea Starter Kit from Indonique!
Tea has provided comfort and nourishment to humans for centuries. There’s nothing better than sitting down with a steaming cup at the end of the day, and feeling its warmth and hydration revitalize your senses. The only thing that can make this wonderful beverage any better is to know that purchasing it helps to strengthen global communities and protect the environment.
Founded by a native of New Orleans, George Constance, and then washed away in the nightmare of Hurricane Katrina, Indonique is a tea and chai company that has risen again as a testament to the fact that the socially-minded businesses are some of the most resilient in the marketplace.
Reestablished in Connecticut, Indonique sells its specialty blends and tea brewing accessories directly to consumers via the internet as well as retailers and wholesalers. What makes Indonique truly unique is that they donate 10% of every sale to the communities where their tea is picked through Program T42.
But Indonique doesn’t just stop with giving back.
In effort to deliver tea to your cup while reducing carbon emissions, Indonique has decided to eliminate bagged tea. Bagged tea requires several entire industries to provide the bags. Trees must be felled, transported and turned into paper to be transported again just to create the bag before bagging is even performed. Each step creating unnecessary carbon emissions. Nylon, erroneously referred to as silk tea bags, likewise, greatly increases carbon output.
Instead, Indonique offers premium quality loose leaf teas that you can prepare with a a stainless steel infuser that lasts for many years and generates a dramatically lower carbon imprint.

Ya Beth! Who doesn’t love a free give-away
I found this very interesting: Tea is loaded with fluoride, an element that can strengthen tooth enamel. Tea can also reduce plaque that causes gum disease.
Give-aways are always nice.
I love that tea can contribute to hydration. Makes my morning cuppa even better.

Hurrah! Here’s my fun tea fact:
The word Chai originated with the first tea drinkers – the Chinese – who called tea T’cha or Cha.
I’m already a fan on FB and follow you on Twitter.
Tea and coffee on average have the same caffeine, but tea can have 2x as much, largely depending on what kind and the length of steeping. I’m @GreenSmith on Twitter. And I’m about to tweet the contest
Here’s to free tea!!
Tea and Cancer
In animal studies of both green and black teas, a molecule found in all teas called a polyphenol appear to be effective in reducing lung, breast, colon and skin cancer risk.
